MARCO POLO Blogging #2: But the cost would be prohibitive . . .
MARCO: Given the opportunity and the technology to make it happen, would you consider living on the Moon or on Mars? Would you? Which would you choose, why, and what requirements (other than air, water, food, heat, shelter, etc.) would you take with you?
POLO: If I could, I guess I’d live for a year on Mars – provided there was a nice, big human-friendly habitat all set up for me. There’s no way I’d rough it on Mars. I don’t even rough it on Earth. And I’d choose Mars over the Moon because I prefer a little more gravity so as not to lose critical bone and muscle mass.
I’d take 1. my family 2. reading material and 3. coffee. Well, definitely the reading material and the coffee . . .
How ’bout you?
Comment below for your “POLO.”
Thanks!

W-e-l-l—me thinks it’s COLD on Mars, maybe even on the moon, but I’d choose Mars. All my woolies would I take, plus lots of socks, good warm coats and for sure my down comforter, my crockpot for sure (there better be electricity), a couple of cases of red wine (how long would the trip take?), and lots of coffee.Oh, and lots of straws so I can drink. These would be at the top of my list, BUT, I’m not so adventurous as to take such a LONG trip–I’d be OLD before we arrived. What a waste of good wine and anyway, how do I know what the atmosphere on Mars would do to it.
Somewhere here recently I read read the words ‘wineo’clock’. I like this so much I’ll admit I’d rather enjoy wineo’clock where I know my stock won’t spoil. Ha ha.
Ha, funny. Pretty sure you already dipped into that wine….
